行程（７）
御嶽（みたけ）←細久手←大久手（おおくて）←中津川←落合←馬籠←（馬籠峠）←妻籠（つまご）←三渡野（みとの）←野尻 右から。
妻籠宿を発つと、すぐに馬籠峠越えにかかる。きついが、馬籠宿で木曾１１宿もおわるとおもうと、うれしいような、残念のような。
馬籠峠
43木曾街道 馬籠駅・峠より遠望之図（英泉）
研究者によると、ずいぶん無理して馬籠峠を１景にまとめているらしい。左手の男滝、女滝は無理に移動したものと。 峠の下の家々は馬籠宿ではなく峠村であろうと。正面の薄墨の山が消されている版がある。なんという岳だろう。
（11.13）馬籠峠までの上りがつづく。卯建の上がった家並の大妻籠の集落を過ぎ、石畳の山道を上り、倉料祖霊社を過ぎると、 まもなく吉川英治『宮本武蔵』の舞台となった「男滝・女滝」に出る。なんとも可愛いら滝であった。（くまごろう）
そうだった。この滝を「女男（めおと）の滝と読んだ武蔵は、お通を抱き倒し---求め、抵抗され、滝にうたれて頭を冷やしたんだった。 章のタイトルは、男と女の性意識を象徴するような、「男滝女滝」（［風の巻］）。
別の研究者は、『木曽路名所図会』に「十曲嶺・落合と馬篭の間にあり。里人は十石峠と云ふ。十曲とは坂路九折多ければ名に呼ぶ」 とあるあたりを描いたものと---ということは、馬篭宿を出立したあとの景色となる。

落合宿へ１里５丁。宿場３丁２間。家数８８軒。京へ５３里１４丁。
この宿は、島崎藤村『夜明け前』の舞台でもモデルは〔大黒屋〕大脇家。
馬籠宿を過ぎ、十曲峠（じゅっきょくとおげ）を越えると、木曾も終わって美濃国の落合宿。里人は、十曲峠を十石峠（じっこくとうげ） とも呼んでいろらしい。
十曲峠

左下、落合川に架かるのは下桁橋。
44木曾海道六拾九次之内 落合（広重）
峠を下ると、これまでの山また山の木曾と違い、眼前に平坦な田園風景が広がり、まったく異なった国へ入ったと思うらしい。
落合宿（分間延絵図）
中津川宿へ１里。宿場３丁１１間。家数７５軒。火縄をつくる家が多い。
『木曽路名所図会』が「この宿賎し」と書いているのは、通りに屈曲が多いからか。

雨足が遠景の陰影の山容（恵那山？）では白く抜かれているのが珍しい。

中津川は宿場の西を流れて木曽川に合流する。この絵は、その中津川を近景に置いて、宿場を眺めている。
中津川宿（分間延絵図）
大井へ２里２４丁。宿場１２丁。家数３７０軒余。
この絵図で、初めて宿場の全貌が知れる。東西の出入口を、やはり、屈折させている。
駒場村（分間延絵図）
中津川宿のすぐ西の里が駒場の村落。なぜ、駒場を？ との疑問はごもっと。女忍者・於蝶が『蝶の戦記』
（文春文庫）について登場・活躍する『忍びの風』（文春文庫）で、京都を目指していた武田信玄の病が篤くなり、卒したのは駒場。
３万近い軍徒が野営したのはどのあたりだろうか---などと空想をめぐらせて、ハッと気づいた。木曾街道筋のここは現・ 岐阜県中津川市の一部。信玄が逝ったのは伊奈街道の現・長野県下伊奈郡阿智村駒場（こまんば）。もっとも（こまんば） という呼び方は明治以前のものらしいが。
［2-1 蛇（くちなわ）の眼］に登場する〔駒場 （こまんば） 〕の宗六の（こまんば）は、木曾街道・中津川の駒場から山を越えて６里ほど東へ行ったところ。
46木曾海道六拾九次之内 大井（広重）
米国婦人メリー・マックネイルさんによる形容詞---「霧と雪と雨の芸術家・広重」の感を、ひとしお重く受け止めたくなる風景。 笠も合羽も荷物も馬の頭も、そして松樹の幹にも、霏霏と降る雪、雪、雪。
中津川から来て、甚兵衛坂をのぼり、まさに大井宿へ入ろうとする旅人とか。
大井宿（分間延絵図）
大久手（おおくて）宿へ３里半。宿場６丁半。家数２７０軒。
美濃１６宿中、最も繁栄したといわれた、枡形の道が目立つ大井宿泊り。
宿場左手は大井川の上流。
第１2日目
大井宿から大久手宿の間には、十三峠と名づけられた尾根伝いの難所の道。
大久手宿（分間延絵図）
細久手（ほそくて）宿へ１里３０丁。大湫（くて）小学校が本陣跡。
樹齢１３００年という神明社の大杉樹は、蜀山人の『壬戌紀行』にも記されている。
47木曾海道六拾九次之内 大久手（広重）
大久手宿を発ってすこし行ったところの、母衣（ほろ）岩とえぼし岩である。つづいて琵琶峠。『木曽路名所図会』は「琵琶嶺 （びはたうげ）、道至つて険しく岩石多し。登り下り十町ばかりなり。坂の上より丑寅の方に木曾の御岳見ゆる。北には加賀の白山、 飛騨山の間より見ゆる」 海抜５３８m。
48木曾海道六拾九次之内 細久手（ほそくて）（広重）
坂の下は細久手宿。
細久手宿（分間延絵図）
御嶽（みだけ）宿へ３里。
49木曾海道六拾九次之内 御嶽（みだけ）（広重）
御嶽宿へ下る手前の謡坂（うたふざか）村の立場か、と。障子戸に〔きちん宿〕と書かれている。 囲炉裏鍋を囲んでいる旅人たちの姿態がおもしろい。水桶を担いている女性の顔の白さに注意。女性の色白は七難かくすという。
（6.14）旅人が自らを元気づけるために、歌を唄ってあるいたので、その名が付いたとい言う謡坂は石畳の急坂であった。 （くまごろう）
御嶽（みたけ）宿（分間延絵図）
伏見へ１里５丁。宿場５丁。家数１５０軒。美濃平野の東端。
蟹（可児）薬師で有名な願興寺の門前町として開けた宿場。
（6.15） 御嶽は御嵩とも書く。江戸時代、宿をいう場合き魚嶽とし、村をいう場合は御嵩と使いわけていたそうな。（くまごろう）
伏見宿への途中、鬼首塚がある。〔関（せき）〕の太郎という盗賊を処刑した所とのこと。

赤坂宿←美江寺(みゑじ)←河渡(ごうど)←加納←鵜沼←太田←伏見←御嶽(みだけ) 右から

大山街道ぞいにあった「伏見大杉」を画面の中心に据えたか。山路を無事に終えて
、それぞれにくつろいだ感じの旅の衆。
伏見宿（分間延絵図）
太田宿へ２里。
（6.15） 一里塚跡は江戸へ９７里の距離のところにあった。（くまごろう）
51木曾海道六拾九次之内 太田（広重）
太田宿に手前で、太田の舟渡し。流れが早いので、馬子唄に「木曾のかけはし、太田の渡し、碓氷峠がなくばよい」と。
太田宿（分間延絵図）
鵜沼宿へ２里。鍛冶名人の多い関は北へ１里半。飛騨街道と郡上街道がここで分岐している。
（6.15） 脇本陣・林家住宅は現在も住居として使用されながら国重要文化財として保存されている中山道中、最古のものであった。 （くまごろう）
52木曾海道 鵜沼ノ駅・従犬山遠望（英泉）
木曾川の右手は犬山城の天守閣。川向うが鵜沼宿。
鵜沼宿（分間延絵図）
加納へ４里半。
（6.16） ここは濃尾大地震により壊滅的な打撃を受け、宿場の遺構は殆ど残っていない。（くまごろう）

木曾路を過ぎましたね。
以前小生馬籠側から馬籠峠越えをしたことがあります。(馬籠峠越えは馬籠→妻籠のほうが楽です）
妻籠から馬籠峠を越えて馬籠に入り、「木曾１１宿もおわるとおもうと、うれしいような、残念のような」という気持ち、わかります。
いつか木曾11宿を踏破してみたいと思っています。
